Fees

Every matter and situation is different. The best way to accurately come up with a reasonable expectation of what your legal fees will be is to set up a NO OBLIGATION FREE CONSULTATION either in PERSON or via TELEPHONE.

Fees are determined by looking at both the complexity of the case as well as the anticipated time that it will take for the matter to resolve. My fees are always quoted upfront and when I am retained legal fees and their breakdown are always in writing. This leads to surety on your part when you hire legal counsel. Depending on the circumstances block fees or an hourly fee could be used or a mix thereof. For example a block fee could be charged for all pre trial work and trial litigation could be charged at an hourly rate. This is something that is always discussed upfront and in writing so that there are no surprises.

Often people who find themselves before the court system are lower income individuals.  I can tailor legal fees with manageable payment plans and reduced rates for those who qualify with proof of income.

In certain circumstances I accept legal aid certificates and can assist those who qualify in applying for legal aid.  In addition a payment plan can be negotiated for most clients.  I also offer limited scope retainers which essentially mean you hire me for a portion of your case which can save legal fees. An example of a limited scope retainer is a bail hearing or for pre trial discussions with the Crown.
